Frequently Asked Questions

• When can we start ?
  The FlashTurn™ site is live NOW. You can enroll or register now, and begin using the site with the understanding that during this initial phase, we're moving quickly to implement suggestions and requests from users, so some changes are still in process. In particular, reports are still being added for various purposes. However, the more users there are, the more useful it is to everyone!

• Will you help me advertise ?
  Sure! FBOs can add a Flashturn™ button link to their own websites so that visitors can be quickly re-directed to the FlashTurn™ site. You'll also be provided with flyers to hand out to visiting pilots or mail to regular customers. Horizon is conducting an active advertising campaign in the public media as well, and contacting major fractionals and other operators personally.

• What can I do with the picture on my homepage ?
  The graphic on your homepage can be anything you would like, as long as it fits within the size limits and is appropriate for the site. Thus, you could use a ramp shot, a logo, lobby shot, or a custom-prepared graphic. However, because it will be displayed within a Flash movie, you must use only JPG files. Graphics must be 350 pixels wide by 234 pixels high or smaller. Any good graphics program should easily resize your existing pictures to fit within this space. You can also go to www.resizr.com to quickly resize your file online.

• How long does it take for a request to be available to the FBO ?
  Requests are available to the FBO instantly when posted by an Aircraft Operator. Just in case you're not hanging out online at the moment, you'll also receive an email notice that a new request has been posted so you'll know to log in and see the details.

• What if some trip details change ?
  Although changes to service requests are limited after posting, both the FBO and the Aircraft Operator can exchange unlimited messages on each request. Aircraft Operators can also cancel (but not delete) a posted request. If there are significant changes, an Operator may decide to cancel the original request and enter a new one at any time.

• What does a confirmation really mean ?
  An FBO confirms a request to show that it has been received and read. If fuel has been requested, and FBO must also confirm either a price or stated discount. Additional details relating to arrangements for lodging, catering, or ground transportation may be confirmed in subsequent messages on each request.

• Do you need to have TotalFBO® ?
  No! FlashTurn™ is available to the entire aviation community. TotalFBO® is being enhanced to interface directly with the FlashTurn™ site so that information is available within your local database and so that invoices can be uploaded to the site, as well as other features. So having TotalFBO® will simply provide added benefit to those users.

• What about the email notices ?
  An email notice is sent to the FBO when a new request is posted. An Aircraft Operator receives an email notice when his request is confirmed. And the FBO receives an email notice if a request is cancelled. Notices do not contain the details of the request, but refer to the request ID so you can check the details quickly online.

• How do I set up multiple locations ?
  We suggest that FBOs set up a separate account for each airport location. Aircraft Operataors will find you by searching for an airport identifier rather than by name.

• What if I sell an aircraft ?
  An Aircraft Operataor can remove an aircraft from their list of aircraft at any time. Service requests are stored with the full tail number included, linked to the Aircraft Operator at the time the request was created. So the next owner's requests will never be confused with your requests.

• What about fuel prices ?
  An FBO is expected to make every effort to keep their fuel prices current on the FlashTurn™ site at least weekly. However, fuel prices often change rapidly, so we suggest that an FBO confirm a price LEVEL whenever possible (Retail, Cost +, or Cents Off). If fuel is requested, an FBO cannot confirm the request without entering some information about the fuel price first. However, please understand that any price arrangements are between the FBO and the Aircraft Operator and are outside the control of FlashTurn™ .

• How are subscriptions billed ?
  Aircraft Operator registration is free. FBO subscriptions are billed automatically to your credit card about a month in advance of your subscription renewal date. You can see this date on your company profile. Initial enrollment sets up for a monthly billing cycle, and you can elect longer cycles to take advantage of discounted rates. Make changes to your billing cycle, credit card information, or cancel your subscription at any time from within your profile. You can also elect to be invoiced on an annual basis, if you prefer to pay by check.

• What happens if my subscription expires ?
  If your subscription expires without renewal or is cancelled, you will not be able to manage your service requests. An administrator may login and renew or update billing information at any time and instantly reactivate the subscription, however. During the time the subscription is inactive, your FBO will not be available for selection by Aircraft Operators who create new requests.

• Can I cancel my subscription ?
  An FBO may cancel at any time by updating their profile Billing tab. Please refer to the refund policy for more information.

• How secure is my information and that of my customers ?
  Communications between your computer and forms on the the FlashTurn™ site are secured over SSL with a 128-bit certificate from Thawte. Sensitive data is stored in our SQL server and is further encrypted using an AES encryption algorhythm. Because all forms are actually Flash "movies," all information is served up dynamically and cannot be harvested by conventional spammers.
